Wraith three...

The third and final one for sale here.

Wraith two...

Here is the second part to the Wraith set of ACEO's. This one can be bought here.

Wraith one...

This one is an ACEO that I decided to do just to see if I can sell them to be perfectly honest. I though with Halloween fast approaching now might be as good a time as any to do a few of these to sell on Ebay.

I'm thinking of doing a three part set but selling individually. This one can be bought here.

Self Portrait

This one's just been finished and posted on the CGTalk forums for feedback. Basically it's an exercise in skin tones, lighting etc...

Sticky...

What could be stickier than a dungeon chamber full of filthy, rotten sludge? A living slime that slowly builds up over time eating anything small or slow enough to fall into the thick ooze. This is my take on Illustration Friday's "Sticky".

Originally produced for Ronin Arts as part of an ooze series.

Rain...

This image was originally created for "A Game of Thrones" Collectable Card Game, by Fantasy Flight Games. The card is called "Price of Excess" and features a peasant revolt against the nobility.

I remember at the time I wanted to catch the moment of the revolt in typical wet English weather. Not only are the damned peasants revolting but it's bloody raining too. The card game is set on an imaginary world but I picture the game's time frame similar to around the 1400's.

Anyway the rain was something I remember trying to capture, which brings me to the reason I chose to show this on Illustration Friday. Rain.

White Tiger

Over the last week I've changed jobs, so I now design & sell kitchens. However, while the World Cup is on, appointments are thin on the ground, so I've had a fair old chunk of time to play around doing some digital painting, as well as watching loads of footy.

I decided to draw & paint a White Tiger, and learnt something new about them in the process. Please take a look at the link below as it draws attention to the fact these beautiful creatures are the result of what I consider to be abhorrent human behaviour.

Fat...

Another one for Illustration Friday, this weeks theme is "Fat". This image was produced some years back in 2000 for a small publication over in Australia called Winedark Sea. I'm not sure if that magazine is still running but this was an odd one to say the least.

From what I can remember the story was about this guy that looked after his blind, obese & bedbound wife; it's hazy in the memory, but she used to do ornate artwork on the back of cupboards & hidden furniture when he was out at work. All the while she had been able to see and walk but she had been doing this for years without him knowing! He killed her after finding out... and that was the end of that?!

Well, it's got a fresh airing thanks to theme week.

Monster...

This once mighty dragon has now become a rotting corpse still tainted by the magical energies that slew it. It was commissioned for Ronin Arts, an RPG publisher I have done a small amount of work for recently. I have also posted the image for Illustration Friday, an idea that my girlfriend introduced me to.

Last Friday's illustration was "monster". I thought this was just the ticket.

Welcome....

Hello... you've stumbled across my mumblings & scribbles... lucky you.

My name is not Michael Caine. It's Mark Brooks. I'm a part-time artist living in the UK. When I say part-time, what I mean to say is; I only do artwork when the planets align in such a manner that they deem it's time for me to do some doodling, or when I'm a bit skint and could do with some extra cash.

I've had a fair old chunk of work published in the past, but I've decided to just do artwork as and when I'm happy doing it now. It's given me a chance to get back to doing art for fun rather than profit. I'll draw and if someone wants to buy it, great. If not, no worries.

Well that's a nice little start to things... here's some art.
